It is really interesting how the Savings & Loan bailout was $500 Billion 18 years ago. I have been telling everyone that this too will pass. Seeing that makes me believe it.

The comment immediately preceding mine hit the nail on the head. This current crisis is huge, there is no doubt about that, but the media firestorm of coverage has helped raise fear to a whole new level. I guess that may help us bottom out faster so we can begin to recover, but we're not yet out of the period of ubiquitous fear.
